July 2001:

Agreement signed with SII Israel

The latest expansion of our Nemko Direct program was made in May this year when we signed a cooperation agreement with the Israeli certification body SII situated in Tel-Aviv, which is the appointed body for the mandatory certification of products in Israel.  The agreement concerns mutual acceptance of testing and inspection reports, and also to act as applicant on behalf of respective clients. Regarding exporting of products to Israel, the agreement covers both the minimum option with type testing certificate needed for release of the products from customs, as well as the more comprehensive option of certification for SII mark of conformity, which may be preferred for manufacturers with frequent shipments to Israel.  With this latest expansion, the Nemko Direct program now encompasses totally 33 agreements through which we offer our clients easier global market access for their products

Nemko labs accredited by Chinese CCIBLAC +

The labs of Nemko AS in Oslo are now formally accredited by CCIBLAC, the accreditation body for testing to the Chinese CCIB mark. The assessment, which was carried out by a three-member team from CCIBLAC during a full week last fall, was very thorough and covered a range of IEC safety standards and also EMC.  Nemko is the first body in Europe to have achieved this exclusive status.  From now on CQC can entrust testing assignments to our laboratories, whether it is type testing or testing of samples taken from factory inspection which Nemko is also entrusted to perform for CQC.  With the CCIBLAC accreditation in place, our present agreements with the Chinese authorities may now be extended to cover also type testing, so that sending of sample to China for CCIB certification may later be avoided.  This extension is, however, delayed since the involved authorities are in a process of reorganization.  Former CIQ-SA (State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine of P.R. China) and former CSBTS (China State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision) has merged into a new entity named State General Administration of P.R. China for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ). This new organization is now preparing to launch the new mandatory national certification mark to replace the CCIB and Great Wall marks in the future.
